“A young man named Adrian Gang had a Porsche repair shop next to Aviaid called Edelweiss. He was a young for his age twenty-two year old and a huge race fan. Adrian would sponsor my car at the runoffs to the tune of two hundred dollars plus he paid for the Edelweiss lettering on the door.”
“The car ran as well as it ever had, thanks to George (Boskoff), but I could only manage fourth after a race long battle with a Brabham BT 8 Climax. The three cars that beat me were Scooter in the 910 H Porsche and Lew Florence and Don Pike, both in 906 Porsches. This was the last time I would race the Lotus Porsche.”
