“Joey Cavaglieri and I needed money so we roofed this guy’s house named Perry Krinitt. His wife Florence had inherited some money that he was pretty intent on spending as fast as he could so Joey and I talked him out of buying a cigarette boat and into buying a F5000 car.”

John qualified the Krinitt Lola Chevrolet T400 (chassis #HU12) on its debut at Mid-Ohio. He started and finished Heat One 8th ,and finished the final in 10th.

Krinitt Racing moved the engine, gearbox, wheels, instruments, brakes and steering rack from the T400 chassis to a T332 for the inaugural Long Beach Grand Prix. John finished 9th in the race.
