Vasek Polak Racing Team Porsche 934
July 10, 1976

Vasek Polak brought two new 934s to this race. They were transported to New York from California in $500 trailer painted with spray paint. George Follmer’s car had stiffer springs than factory parts, and George crashed, so John and George shared a car. John ran out of gas in the race; likely because the the low fuel light was accidentally left disconnected. Joey Cavaglieri asked that the car be brought in for fuel, but Vasek said “No, he has the light.”
